Our team recently partnered with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sandcreekgreenway.org\">Sand Creek Regional Greenway<\/a> for a cleanup day that ended up breaking all-time records!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11877 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/kindhomepainting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG_3438-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"325\" style=\"padding:35px 0 35px 35px\"\/><\/p>\n<h3>A Trail Worth Protecting<\/h3>\n<p>For those unfamiliar with this natural gem, the Sand Creek Regional Greenway is a beautiful 13-mile stretch of trail system connecting Aurora to Denver. It serves as both a transportation corridor and a natural retreat for countless Coloradans seeking fresh air and open spaces.<\/p>\n<p>The greenway follows Sand Creek through urban landscapes, offering a glimpse of nature right in the heart of our busy metropolitan area. Wildlife, native plants, and peaceful waterways make it special\u2014but like many urban natural spaces, it faces ongoing challenges from litter and illegal dumping.<\/p>\n<h3>Breaking Records (and a Sweat!)<\/h3>\n<p>Before our day began we were told the record for trash collection was 535 pounds. We were determined to beat that record.<\/p>\n<p>With roughly thirty Kind Home volunteers armed with gloves, trash bags and trash pickers we ventured into the Dahlia Trail system. By the end of the day we had collected an astonishing <strong>638 pounds of trash<\/strong> in a single session\u2014setting a new all-time record for the organization!<\/p>\n<div class=\"alignright captionimg\" style=\"padding: 0 0 35px 35px; display:inline; width:325px\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-11870\" src=\"https:\/\/kindhomepainting.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/05\/IMG_3468-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"290\" \/><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-size:11px!important; text-align: center; width:100%;position:relative\">The fruits of our labor\u2014638 pounds worth!<\/span><\/div>\n<h3>More Than Just Trash Collection<\/h3>\n<p>While the impressive weight of collected trash gives us bragging rights, the day offered so much more:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Team bonding while doing something meaningful together<\/li>\n<li>Fresh air and exercise (those trash bags got heavy!)<\/li>\n<li>Deeper appreciation for our local natural spaces<\/li>\n<li>Conversations with grateful trail users who stopped to thank us<\/li>\n<li>Immediate visible impact on a place we all share<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We also learned about the ongoing conservation efforts from the passionate staff at Sand Creek Regional Greenway.
